UTICA, NY- The Utica College women's basketball team looks to win its third straight on Saturday as it hosts crosstown rival, SUNY Poly for a non-conference contest.  Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
 
LAST TME OUT: Utica jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as it downed visiting Alfred State 71-52 last Thursday evening… UC outscored the visitors 18-4 in the first quarter of the victory… Freshman Sydney Przygoda (Freehold, NJ/Freehold) led the way with 17 points and 15 rebounds, while sophomore Brigid Johndrow (Bristol, CT/St. Paul Catholic) was right behind Przygoda with 16 points, including 2-of-4 from behind the three-point line… Nicolette Conkin (Los Altos, CA/Homestead) totaled 12 points and chipped in with eight rebounds… Senior Briannah Florian (Fort Plain, NY/Fort Plain) finished second on the squad with 11 boards and she also added eight points to help out the offense.
 
DOUBLING UP: Thursday marked the third double-double of the season for Przygoda and it was also her fifth straight game with at least 10 rebounds… The freshman leads the Empire 8 Conference with 11.5 rebounds per game and she also has a team-high three blocks this season… Przygoda is averaging a double-double with 11.7 points and 11.5 boards per game. 
 
LEADING THE WAY: Sophomore Brigid Johndrow (Bristol, CT/St. Paul Catholic) leads the team and ranks eighth in the E8 with 12.7 points per game… Johndrow also has a team-high 14 steals and she is shooting 32% (10-of-31) from three-point land… Junior Nicolette Conkin (Los Altos, CA/Homestead) is right behind Johndrow with an average of 12.0 points per game and she has also collected 39 boards through six games.
 
SCOUTING SUNY POLY: The Wildcats are 4-2 on the year and 3-0 in the NEAC… They have won three straight, including an 82-52 win over SUNY Cobleskill on Tuesday… SUNY Poly is led by freshman Molly Burdick and junior Kiersten Leos, who are averaging 16.7 and 16.5 points per game, respectively.
 
FREE POINTS: The Pioneers have shot 61.9% from the free throw line, while their opponents are averaging 55.7%... Johndrow leads the team with 12-of-14 free throws made (85.7%), followed by Florian, who has sunk 10-of-12 (83.3%) from the charity strip.
 
LOOKING AHEAD: The Pioneers will have a week off before traveling to Morrisville State next weekend to take on the Mustangs… Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday.
