UTICA, NY- Five different players scored as the Utica College women's hockey team cruised to a 6-0 victory over visiting Lebanon Valley College in UCHC Conference action Saturday afternoon.
Rebecca Brown (Steamboat Springs, CO/Norwich University) led Utica with three assists on the day.
With the win, the Pioneers improve to 11-9-2 overall and 6-5-2 in the conference. UC is also unbeaten in its last five games and 4-1-2 in its last seven contests. The teams will wrap up the season series on Sunday. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
The Pioneers got on the board at 15:24 of the first period as junior
Elizabeth Dohner (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects) deflected a shot from the point off the stick of classmate
Danielle Haasbeek (Grand Forks, ND/Balmoral Hall) for her sixth of the year. Senior
Samantha Husak (Jackson, MI/Belle Tire) also assisted on the go-ahead goal.
The Pioneers broke the game open with two goals just 17 seconds apart just over halfway through the second period. First,
Veronique Lortie (Chambly, Quebec/Berkshire School) fired a shot from the blue line that fooled Lebanon Valley goalie Jill Moffat for her fourth of the year. Then,
Olivia Hirschy (Fort Wayne, IN/Culver Academies) netted a wraparound tally for her sixth of the season.
Just two minutes later, senior
Taylor Osowski (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects) netted her fifth goal in the last six games as she put in a rebound in front. Dohner and
Meghan Power (Windsor, Ontario/Southwest Wildcats) assisted on Osowski's seventh of the year.
Utica capped off the scoring with two goals in the final frame as Hirschy scored her second of the day and freshman
Lexi Stanisewski (Lawrence, MA/Boston Shamrocks) also found the back of the net.

Gabrielle Igo (Phoenix, AZ/Northern Cyclones) made six saves to pick up her second shutout of the year, while Moffat made 78 saves in the loss.
