UTICA, NY -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Monday the 2018 NABC Coaches' Division III All-District teams and coaches, recognizing the best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division, selected by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division III. Ivan Iton (Ossining, NY/Ossining) was named to the All-District East Second Team.
Iton, who was also named the Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, finished the year ranked seventh in the Conference with an average of 16.1 points per game. He led the league with an average of 9.7 rebounds per game and ranked 14th nationally with an average of 2.5 blocks per game.
He led the Pioneers to 17 victories (most since 2009) and their first appearance in the E8 title game since 2007.
He will graduate ranked fifth on the College's all-time scoring list with 1,286 career points. He also ranks second all-time at UC with 160 career blocks and third all-time with 804 career rebounds.
Iton is the first Pioneer since Doug Herring back in 2009 to earn a spot on the NABC All-District Team.
