KISSIMMEE, FL- The Utica College softball team earned a sweep on its third day at the Sunkissed Games in Kissimmee, Florida on Tuesday as it downed Wisconsin Lutheran College 3-2 and Plattsburgh State 10-8 in the second game of the day.

Utica 3, WLC 2- Game One Final
The only scoring in the game came in the fifth inning as the Warriors plated two in the top half of the inning before the Pioneers responded with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning thanks to a two-RBI double by
Sabrina Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) and a sac fly by
Sadie Evans (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) that scored the winning run.

Sabrina Stransky (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place),
Jacqueline Aronin (Naugatuck, CT/Naugatuck High School),
Dominique Soto (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place), and
Sabrina Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) each had one hit, while
Brigid Johndrow (Bristol, CT/St. Paul Catholic) recorded one steal.

Freshman
Gabby Caccamo (Suffern, NY/Suffern) went the distance as she fanned three batters and allowed just five hits in seven full innings of work to pick up her second win of the season.

Utica 10, Plattsburgh 8- Game Two Final
Utica jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the first two innings behind a three-run home run by
Sabrina Stransky (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) and a two-run shot by
Hayley Fredericks (Suffern, NY/Suffern). Â Fredericks' blast was her first collegiate home run.

Despite scoring three runs in both the third and fourth innings, the Cardinals were not able to get out of the early hole they dug themselves.

Samantha Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) was 3-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored to lead the way for Utica.Fredericks,
Sadie Evans (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), and
Nicole Rice (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) were each 2-for-4 in the game, while Stransky,
Madison Judge (Albany, NY/Colonie),
Jacqueline Aronin (Naugatuck, CT/Naugatuck High School),
Brigid Johndrow (Bristol, CT/St. Paul Catholic), and
Dominique Soto (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) also had hits.Â

Stransky was also impressive in the circle as she struck out two and allowed just three earned runs to pick up her first win of the season.Â

The Pioneers (3-3) will have a day off on Wednesday before returning to the diamond on Thursday for games against Beloit (3:45 p.m.) and Kean University (6 p.m.)
