Men's Soccer Against SUNY Canton Results in a Tie

Canton, NY – The Utica College men's soccer team was on the road Wednesday night to matchup with the SUNY Canton Kangaroos. The match resulted in a 0-0 tie after completing both periods of extra time.
 
Junior goalkeeper Jonathan Side (Plattsburgh, NY/Plattsburgh) earned the clean sheet on the night for the Pioneers. Side played all 110 minutes of the contest in net and made 10 saves to shutout SUNY Canton. The draw puts the team's record at 2-3-1 overall.
 
Nicolas Diaz (Commack, NY/Commack) and Thomas Muller (Camillus, NY/Bishop Ludden) placed a combined total of three shots on net, which resulted in the three saves from Canton's goalie, Mouhammed Thiam. Although UC drew two more corner kicks than its opponent, the Kangaroos outshot the blue and orange, 11-5 in the contest.
 
SUNY Canton's record now sits at 1-2-2 overall so far in 2018.
 
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, as they play the first of a three-game home stand. Utica will host Alfred University for a 7 p.m. start.
