Women's Tennis Faces St. John Fisher on the Road

Utica, NY -- The Utica College women's tennis team is scheduled to matchup with Empire 8 opponent St. John Fisher on Wednesday. This road match is set to begin at 4 p.m.

Last Time Out: The Pioneers took on Nazareth College in their last contest, as they were swept 9-0 on the road. The loss pushed UC's record to 0-7 overall and 0-5 against conference enemies. Naz improved to 5-0 overall and 4-0 within the Empire 8.

Season Winding Down: After Wednesday's meeting with Nazareth, Utica will only have four more scheduled matches left for the fall of 2018. Competitions against Elmira, Houghton, and Oswego State are still unplayed, as well as a rematch with SUNY Delhi. The second meeting with Delhi will be the final match of the season on October 7th.

Scouting Fisher: The St. John Fisher Cardinals are sitting at 5-1 overall this year and have earned a mark of 3-1 in E8 play. Fisher started the fall on a five-match winning streak before recently falling to Stevens. The Cardinals lost to the Ducks from Stevens in their last match, getting swept 9-0 for the first loss of the season.

Looking Ahead: UC will be back home on Saturday for some more conference action, as the team will face-off against Elmira College (0-8, 0-4 E8). The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
