Utica, NY – The Utica College women's soccer team will play game three of its four game road trip to open the season on Wednesday, as it heads out to play Buffalo State. This non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
 
Last Weekend: UC opened up the 2018 season with a pair of road games over last weekend against SUNY Brockport and SUNY Geneseo. The team fell to Brockport 1-0, as the Golden Eagles found the back of the net in the final three minutes of regulation to avoid overtime. The next day Geneseo took down the Pioneers, 4-0, to give them a record of 0-2 after opening weekend.
 
Wagner's Career Day: Junior goalkeeper Allison Wagner (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) put together an impressive performance in the loss to SUNY Brockport. Wagner faced a total of 35 shots in the contest, while managing to make a career-high 19 saves in net. Her efforts moved her up to third on the program's all-time list for career saves, accumulating 314 saves thus far. Allison is just 15 saves away from jumping up to second on the all-time career saves list.
 
Scouting Buffalo State: The Buffalo State Bengals are sitting at a record of 0-2 after competing at the RPI Tournament during opening weekend. The Bengals lost to Farmingdale State, 1-0, in the first round of the competition before falling 3-2 to Western Connecticut State in the consolation game. In the loss to Western Connecticut Claire Dyal and Emma Boccolucci both netted scores, with assists going to Allie Reeds and Alexis Hanson on the day. Taylor Carillo has made just seven saves as the team's goalkeeper thus far, while allowing four goals to be scored. Both UC and Buffalo State will be looking for their first win of the 2018 season on Wednesday.
 
Looking Ahead: The Pioneers finish off its road trip on Saturday at SUNY Canton. The game will kick-off at 1 p.m.
