Utica, NY - The Utica College women's soccer team dropped to 8-4 on the year with a 3-1 loss to Alfred on the road Saturday evening.
Senior Mikayla Blumenstock (Poland, NY/Poland) struck first with a goal in the 29th minute. This marked Blumenstock's 14th goal of the season, which slots her atop the league in this category. Blumenstock also solidified herself in UC history against Alfred, passing Justine Miller for the fourth-most all-time points with 56 total career points. Senior goalie Allison Wagner (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) posted five saves in this match as well.
Alfred responded in the second half with goals from Natalie O'Brien, Keria Palumbo and Abigail Austin to take a 3-1 lead that it would hold for the duration.
Utica culminates its two-game road trip with a match against St. John Fisher next Saturday at at 4 p.m.
