UTICA, NY- Junior
Sabrina Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) had a hand in all four goals as the Utica College field hockey team downed visiting Sage 4-0 in Empire 8 Conference play Saturday evening.
After a scoreless first half, the Pioneers exploded for three goals in just under 10 minutes to take a commanding 3-0 lead.
Sydney Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) started the offensive onslaught at 35:12 when she put in a feed from Whitehouse for her team-leading fifth goal of the year.
Sophomore
Madeline Krecidlo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) padded the lead at 40:28 with her fourth of the year, assisted by Whitehouse. Just 4:09 later, Krecidlo repaid the favor as she fed Whitehouse for Utica's third tally.
Senior
Amanda Fitzgerald (New York Mills, NY/New York Mills) capped off the scoring at 54:39 with her first goal as a Pioneer. The Pioneers did not allow a shot on goal over 60 minutes of play. Abigayle Greier finished with 14 saves in net for Sage.
The Pioneers return to action Tuesday as they travel to RPI. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
