Utica, NY – The Utica College men's swim & dive team is set to host the Skidmore Thoroughbreds in a Dual Meet at the Utica College Pool this Saturday at 1 p.m.

Last Time Out: The Pioneers swept the Roberts Wesleyan Invitational last weekend, beating both Roberts Wesleyan (134.50-42.50) and Wells (149-52) Saturday afternoon. UC started on a strong note, as Coleman Barry (Levittown, NY/Division), Michael Leyburn (Monson, MA/Monson), Lucas DiLego (Oneida, NY/Oneida) and Jackson Sorbello (Rome, NY/RFA) notched a first place finish in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:52.00. Both Sorbello and DiLego excelled in the individual events as well, with both of them posting two top-two finishes. Sorbello led the way with first place finishes in the 50 yard freestyle (24.29) and 100 yard freestyle (53.60). Dilego posted a first place finish in the 100 yard butterfly (1:03.22) and finished second in the 50 yard freestyle (25.04).

Freshman Nick Massa (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) notched his first-career first place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 3:01.42. Leyburn and Barry also tabbed first place finishes in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:07.43) and 400 yard IM (4:55.08), respectively. Diver Matt Patton (Waterford, CT/Waterford) went uncontested, and he finished the day with a score of 428.40 on the one meter board.
 
New Faces: The men's team welcomes new members to its squad for the 2019-20 season. Michael Colocho (Utica, NY/Proctor), Lucas Dilego, Nick Massa (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) and Phillip Ross (Newark, NY/Newark) will all enter their first collegiate season, while junior Terrell Davis (Yonkers, NY/Martin Luther King) will enter his first season at Utica as a transfer.
 
Returning Crew: The men's team returns five members from last season's team. Sean Neary (Marlborough, CT/Montana State) and Matt Patton (Waterford, CT/Waterford) will serve as the two senior leaders on this squad. Michael Leyburn (Monson, MA/Monson) is the sole junior on the team, while sophomores Coleman Barry (Levittown, NY/Division) and Jackson Sorbello (Rome, NY/RFA) round out the roster for the Pioneers.
 
Looking Ahead: The Pioneers head back on the road for a dual meet against the Cazenovia Wildcats on Saturday, December 6 at 6 p.m.
