AMHERST, MA- The Utica College women's hockey team fell to host Amherst College 7-1 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.

The Mammoths used three goals in each of the first two periods and added another tally in the third to pull away. Jilliam Mazzocca and Carlery Daley each had a goal and two assists to lead the way for Amherst.Â

Utica was finally able to get on the board at 12:29 of the third period when freshman
Erica Sloan (Potsdam, NY/St. Lawrence Steel) netted her team-leading fifth goal of the season.Â
Holly Silva (Boston, MA/Worcester Academy) and
Georgiana Santullo (Woburn, MA/Boston Shamrocks/Woburn High School) assisted on Sloan's tally.

Freshman
Savannah Gutierrez (Huntington Beach, CA/Anaheim Lady Ducks) finished with a career-high 46 saves, while Amherst's goalie trio of Caitlin Walker, Anna Kruesel, and Caroline Booraem combined for 12 saves in the win.

The Pioneers return to action Sunday as they host Castleton University. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
