UTICA, NY- The Utica College field hockey team dropped a close one to nationally ranked No. 14 University of Rochester Friday afternoon as it fell 2-0. Both Rochester goals came in the second half.
After over 30 minutes of scoreless play, U of R broke the deadlock at 36:10 when Amanda Strenk found the back of the net for her second of the year. Maya Haigis was credited with an assist on the play.
The Yellow Jackets struck again at 44:31 when Strenk and Haigis connected for the second time to give the visitors a two-goal cushion.

Megan Chamberlain (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) finished with 17 saves on the day, just two off her career-high. Rochester's Kate Kujawa meanwhile made two saves in the win.
The Pioneers return to action Wednesday as they travel to Brockport. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
