Women's Tennis Looking to Sweep Delhi

Utica, NY - The Utica College women's tennis team is set for a road match against the SUNY Delhi Broncos on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.

Favorable History: The Pioneers currently sit at 1-5, with the sole win of the season coming in the team's home opener against SUNY Delhi. UC topped the Broncos by a convincing 8-1 score, winning five of the six singles matches. Freshmen Morgan Willis (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury), Vannthakhan Pin (Utica, NY/T.R. Proctor) and Camryn Sullivan all notched a win, as well as junior Bianca Bockhaus and sophomore Selma Ahmetasevic.

UC also dominated all three doubles matches as well. Junior Madeline McIlnay and Willis took first doubles by a score of 8-6. Pin and Sullivan kept pace in second doubles with a 8-3 win, and Bockhaus and Ahmetasevic recorded the most convincing doubles victory with an 8-2 win.

All-Time History: The Pioneers have played Delhi a total of six times, and they have dropped only one of those matches. The history between these two teams dates back to 2016, and the sole Delhi victory came last season.

Where There's a Willis, There's a Way: Freshman Morgan Willis (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) posted her first collegiate victory last weekend, topping Oswego's Erin Vargo in second singles (2-6, 6-0, 7-5).
