UTICA, NY – The Utica College women's ice hockey team continues its four-game road trip with a two-game weekend slate against Lebanon Valley Saturday at 4 p.m. and Chatham Sunday at 3:40 p.m.

Last Time Out: Utica dropped both its games against the fifth-ranked Adrian Bulldogs this past weekend. In the first game, Adrian used a pair of goals in both the first and second periods to take a commanding 4-0 lead. Utica finally got on the board at 14:24 of the second as freshman
Carolyn Whitney (Raleigh, NC/Milbrook School) netted her fourth goal of the season to cut the lead to 4-1. Classmate
Erica Sloan (Potsdam, NY/St. Lawrence Steel) and sophomore
Maddie Paydos (Simsbury, CT/Vermont Academy) assisted on the tally. Senior
Bria Reilly had one of her best outings as a Pioneer, notching a career-high 47 saves in the loss. Game No. 2 held a similar script, as the Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead and held it for the duration. Sophomore
Caley Susitti (Hartland, WI/Milwaukee Jr. Admirals) and freshman
Morgan Leib (Farmington Hills, MI/Little Caesars) accounted for the two Utica goals in this contest, while junior
Lexi Stanisewski (Lawrence, MA/Boston Shamrocks), along with sophomores
Maddie Paydos (Simsbury, CT/Vermont Academy) and
Lindsey Winter (Minneapolis, MN/Armstrong Cooper), all posted one assist in the 7-2 loss.
Strength in Numbers: Freshman
Erica Sloan (Potsdam, NY/St. Lawrence Steel) leads her team's offensive efforts, posting bests in points, assists and goals, with tallies of 10, five and five, respectively. Sloan currently shares the team-high in assists with sophomore
Georgiana Santullo (Woburn, MA/Boston Shamrocks/Woburn High School). Leading all skater's defensively is senior
Kyra Borsoi (Brossard, Quebec/Holderness), who has a team-leading 14 blocks, averaging 1.16 per game. Leading the Pioneer's goaltending corps is Reilly with 281 saves and a .904 save percentage.
Young Stars: Three of the top four scorers on this year's roster are freshmen. Sloan sits atop the leaderboard in every offensive category, while
Carolyn Whitney (Raleigh, NC/Milbrook School) and
Maggie Rylott (Cobourg, Ontario/West Northumberland) have been consistent contributors for this freshman class as well. Both freshmen currently sport five points this season, which ties them for third-most on the team, with Whitney's coming by way of four goals and one assist and Rylott's being totaled through three goals and two assists.
Dominating History: UC favors very well against its opponent this weekend, totaling a combined 33-0-1 record against both teams. The Pioneers hold a 27-0-1 record against Chatham, and they have won the last 18 matchups with the Cougars heading into this matchup. While the history between UC and Lebanon Valley is much shorter, Utica still holds a very convincing track record in this matchup -- winning all six games since the teams first started playing each other in 2016.
Scouting Lebanon Valley: The Flying Dutchmen currently sit a 3-9-1 this season and have lost two of their last three heading into this weekend's matchup. Sophomore forward Olivia Cindrich leads the team offensively, tabbing a team-high eight points on four goals and four assists. Freshman forward Emma Simpson is right behind her with five points on three goals and two assists. Senior goalie Jill Moffatt has done the majority of work in the net this season, totaling a .929 save percentage through 11 starts.
Scouting Chatham: The Cougars sport a 5-7-1 record at this point in the season, and they are riding a three-game losing streak heading into a two-game weekend against Nazareth and Utica. Junior forward Sydney Collins is the offensive catalyst for this team, as she has put together a team-best 13-point season by way of seven goals and six assists. Senior goalie Devon Strachan has accumulated a .919 save percentage through 10 starts this year while also allowing an average of 2.92 goals per game.
