GENEVA, NY- The Utica College women's hockey team fell to host William Smith College 2-1 in UCHC Conference action Saturday afternoon.
 
The Pioneers will travel to Elmira College on Sunday for their regular season finale.  Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
 
The Herons opened the scoring at 3:55 of the first when Gina Scibetta put in her 16^th goal of the season, assisted by Jules Kennedy and Emily Martino.  William Smith tacked on another tally just 1:54 later when Julianna Gong put in a feed from Scibetta for her 13^th on the year.
 
Utica got one back just over the halfway point of the game as freshman Morgan Leib (Farmington Hills, MI/Little Caesars) put in an unassisted tally for her fifth goal of the year.
 
Despite firing 17 shots on net in the third period, Utica was unable to get the equalizer as the Herons held on for their 17^th win of the season and 13^th in UCHC play.
 
Utica senior Bria Reilly (Hamden, CT/Brewster Academy) made 30 saves in the loss, while Olivia Williams turned aside 34-of-35 shots in net for William Smith.
