Conkin Nominated for WBCA All-Star Game

ATLANTA, GA --  The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced 18 of the 20 NCAA Division III women's basketball seniors that have been selected to take part in the second annual Beyond Sports Women's Collegiate All-Star Game, put on by the WBCA. Utica College's Nicolette Conkin (Los Altos, CA/Homestead) is one of five vying for a spot on the All-Star roster.

The top two candidates who receive the most votes will participate in the All-Star game, which will take place on March 21st in the Capital Center Performance Arena on the campus of Capital University (Columbus, OH). The All-Star competition will immediately follow the NCAA Division III women's basketball national title game. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
 
In order for Conkin to make the big show she must be voted in by the fans, which allowed one vote per ballot but are also able to submit as many ballots as they would like. Voting, which can be found HERE, has begun and will remain open until Sunday, March 15th at 12 p.m.

The final All-Star list will be announced on Monday, March 16th.
 
The Los Altos, CA native rounded out her collegiate playing career in fashion, earning both the Empire 8 Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year titles. She was also named to the E8 All-Tournament Team after dropping a career-high 37 points in UC's loss to Sage in the semifinal round, just five points shy of the league's single-game point record. She also added 11 assists, four steals and four rebounds
 
Conkin finished her senior season ranked fourth in the nation in assists (177) and assists per game (6.8). She is first in the program's single-season record book for assists per game, while ranking second in total assists. For her career efforts, the guard is third in assists with 372 and fifth in assists per game, averaging 3.8.
