UCXC Solid at Hamilton Short Course Meet

CLINTON, NY - The Utica College Cross Country teams got in one final tune-up on Saturday before the Empire 8 Championship as they competed at the Hamilton College Short Course meet. The Utica men were eighth with 180 points, while the UC women were fifth with 130 points. 

 

In the women's four-kilometer event, Jade Dening (Remsen, NY/Remsen) delivered a top five finish. She ran to a time of 15:47, and was 33 seconds behind the leader. Kristin Daino (Johnson City, NY/Maine-Endwell) was 19th in a time of 17:02. Laura Levi (Inlet, NY/Town of Webb) crossed the line in 26th place with a performance of 17:34. Brieann Lohmann (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham) was 58th with a time of 20:05, and Priya Katwala (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) returned to competition to place 60th and round out UC's scorers in 20:43. Emma Zacharewicz (Round Lake, NY/Saratoga Central Catholic) finished in 21:06, and Madison Davis (Hastings, NY/Central Square) came to the line in 22:17. 

 

In the men's five-kilometer event, Michael Roberts was fourteenth in 17 minutes flat. Hayden Lohmann finished in 24th place with a time of 17:46. Andrew Wieder ran to a time of 19:55, Tristan Vargo hit the line in 20:45, and Brian Glantz rounded out the scoring in 21:49. Kyler Ford ran to a time of 22:06, and Jonathan Simmons finished in 22:11 to serve as Utica's two displacers. 

 

The Pioneers now turn their attention to the E8 Championships on Saturday, October 30th in Schuylerville, NY.
