UTICA, NY- Skidmore University scored five unanswered goals as it came away with a 5-2 win over Utica College in non-conference field hockey action Wednesday afternoon.

The Pioneers opened the scoring at 11:47 as
Sabrina Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) cleaned up a loose ball in front for her 16
th goal of the season.Â
Sydney Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) was credited with the assist on the opener.

Utica tacked on another tally in the 34
th minute off a great passing play.Â
Mackenzie Mix (Camden, NY/Camden) started things off as she brought the ball down from midfield. Mix dished the ball to Scaccia who pulled a defender and sent a quick pass down towards the goal line to Whitehouse before she fired the ball into the far side of the cage. The tally marked Whitehouse's 38
th career goal and 100
th career point. Whitehouse is just the fourth player in program history to reach the 100-point plateau.Â

The Thoroughbreds responded with five goals in a span of 6:35 to take control. Mariah Redler and Bella Faber each netted two goals, while Carrie Hughes had a goal and two assists.

Megan Chamberlain (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) made 11 saves for Utica, while Jess Gaetgens had two saves for Skidmore.Â
Kennedy Guy (Glens Falls, NY/Glens Falls) and
Chloe Williams (Holland Patent, NY/Holland Patent) also helped Utica out defensively as each recorded one defensive save.Â
