Offensive Onslaught Overpowers Sage

TROY, NY- The Utica College women's lacrosse team picked up its second straight win with another lopsided victory, this time with a 20-2 win over Russell Sage College in the Pioneers' Empire 8 Conference opener Wednesday evening. 
 
Nine different players scored for Utica Junior Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) led the Pioneers with a season-high eight points on four goals and four assists. Samantha DeCondo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) was second on the squad with two goals and one assist on the evening. Lauren Wolff (Peabody, MA/Peabody), Stephanie Husnay (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), Emily Rossi (Verona, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill), Tracy Moreno (Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove), and Alyssa Drell (Mastic, NY/William Floyd) each chipped in with two goals apiece. 
 
Maddie Behan (Syracuse, NY/Jamesville Dewitt), Mackenzie Keane (Newfoundland, NJ/West Milford), Kristin Krieg (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland), and Addison Green (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) aided the offense with one goal each.  Freshman Devin Ryan (Orchard Park, NY/Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) recorder her first collegiate point with an assist on one of Husnay's goals and Abigail Gerling (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) also recorded assists for the Pioneers.
 
Claire Frier (Lafayette, NY/Lafayette), Shaylynn Palmer (Kirkville, NY/East Syracuse Minoa), and Savanna Thomas (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) combined for seven saves in the win.
 
Utica (2-3, 1-0 E8) readies for a showdown with St. John Fisher College on Saturday.  Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Charles. A. Gaetano Stadium.
