UTICA, NY- The Utica College women's lacrosse team was handed its first conference loss of the season Saturday as it fell to nationally ranked No. 9 St. John Fisher College 19-6.

Fisher scored seven of the game's first eight goals and took a 9-2 lead into halftime. The Cardinals kept up the pressure in the second half, outscoring the Pioneers 10-4 in the final 30 minutes.

Reigning Empire 8 Rookie of the Year Sydney DiGirolamo finished with seven points (four goals, three assists) to lead the way for the Cardinals, while Alyssa Sproule finished with four goals and one assist.

Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) led the way for Utica with two goals and two assists to extend her scoring streak to 24 games. She also had a team-best five caused turnovers and five draw controls.Â
Samantha DeCondo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) and
Stephanie Husnay (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) each chipped in with two goals and senior
Lauren Wolff (Peabody, MA/Peabody) had one assist on the day.
