UTICA, NY- Nazareth College used a string of six straight goals midway through the game to pull away from the Utica College women's lacrosse team, 15-9, on Saturday.
The teams traded goals for the majority of the first half, but Naz used four goals in the final 10 minutes of the first half to take an 8-4 lead into the break. The Golden Flyers kept up the pressure scoring the first two goals of the second half, before Utica was able to get back on track thanks to a pair of goals by seniors

Stephanie Husnay (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) just 39 seconds apart.
The Pioneers came within four, but Naz tacked on two goals in the final two minutes to remain undefeated in Empire 8 Conference play.

Addison Green (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) and sophomore
Samantha DeCondo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) led the pioneers with two goals each, with Green converting on both of her free position opportunities. Husnay finished with a goal and an assist while freshmen
Mara Cunningham (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) and Aana Blaska chipped in with one goal apiece. Blaszka's was the first of her collegiate career.
Junior
Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) extended her scoring streak to 15 games as she netted one goal before having to sit out nearly the entire second half due to a second yellow card on the day. Blaszka finished with a team-high three caused turnovers and five ground balls, while Cunningham and classmate
Katie Crofoot (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) led the squad with three draw controls each.
Nazareth's duo of Emma States and Callahan Lyon combined for seven goals and seven assists to lead the way.
Junior
Claire Frier (Lafayette, NY/Lafayette) finished with ten saves, while Naz's Katie Lawrence made 13 saves in the win. The Pioneers (6-5, 3-2 Empire 8) return to action on Wednesday as they travel to E8 newcomer, Keuka College. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
