Women's Lacrosse Downs Elmira in Regular Season Finale

ELMIRA, NY- The Utica College women's lacrosse team picked up a lopsided victory in its regular season finale as it downed host Elmira College 23-4 on Saturday afternoon.
 
With the win, Utica improves to 8-5 on the year.  The Pioneers have won six of their last seven and look to carry that momentum into next week's Empire 8 Conference Tournament.  UC will square off against Keuka College at home in the quarterfinal match up on Tuesday.  Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
Utica wasted little time getting going as the Pioneers scored just 19 seconds into the game and went on to take a 14-2 lead into halftime.  UC tacked on nine more scores in the second half while allowing just two goals.
 
Utica had scoring from 13 different players in the win, led by junior Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) and sophomore Samantha DeCondo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), who each had four goals on the day.  Freshman Devin Ryan (Orchard Park, NY/Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) had a season-high three goals and two assists, while junior Katherine Migliori (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) netted one goal and dished out a career-best four assists.
 
Lauren Wolff (Peabody, MA/Peabody) and Mackenzie Keane (Newfoundland, NJ/West Milford) each scored two goals, while Stephanie Husnay (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) and Alyssa Drell (Mastic, NY/William Floyd) had one goal and one assist apiece. 
 
Kristin Krieg (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland), Tracy Moreno (Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove), Katie Crofoot (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central), and Alyssa Drell (Mastic, NY/William Floyd) each had one goal, as did freshman Delaney Turtura (Cleveland, NY/Paul V. Moore), marking her first collegiate goal.
 
Freshman Alyssa Pisano (Hopewell Junction, NY/Arlington) led Utica with five draw controls on the day, while DeCondo scooped up a team-leading four ground balls.  Claire Frier (Lafayette, NY/Lafayette), Shaylynn Palmer (Kirkville, NY/East Syracuse Minoa), and Savanna Thomas (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) combined for four saves in net for Utica.
