Landrigan Selected As Academic All-American

UTICA, NY - Conor Landrigan (New Tripoli, PA/Binghamton Jr. Sens (NAHL)) of the Utica College men's ice hockey program may be on to professional hockey, but the honors from his storied collegiate career keep rolling in. Landrigan has been selected to the 2020-21 Academic All-America Division III At-Large first team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The honor was announced on Wednesday by the national organization representing collegiate athletic communications professionals.

The Academic All-American award ranks among the most prestigious honors an NCAA Division III student-athlete can earn. Nominated athletes are selected to the team by an exhaustive committee process designed to recognize only the highest achievers in both academics and athletics. That process includes the selection of Academic All-Region teams along the way, which Landrigan has earned in two consecutive years.

The UC Men's Hockey program has been a notable presence in Academic All-America circles recently. The squad has been represented on the Academic All-America At-Large first team in three consecutive seasons, with star goaltender and 2019 Class Salutatorian Gianluca Baggetta earning the award in 2019 and 2020.

Just four Division III men's ice hockey players received this award, and Landrigan was the only UCHC men's or women's ice hockey student-athlete to get the nod.

In the classroom, Landrigan maintained a grade point average of 3.97 while pursuing his degree in Economics. He was an annual presence on the UCHC All-Academic teams and the Empire 8 Presidents' list.

On the ice, Landrigan carved out his legacy as a consistent winner, and a consistent point-producer. He exits the program as its most decorated forward to date. He was a 2020 AHCA Second Team All-American, and won the 2020 and 2021 UCHC Player of the Year awards, becoming the first two-time men's Conference Player of the Year in the history of the program, and in the history of the UCHC. He won the conference regular season championship all four years, played in three conference finals, and won two conference postseason tournament championships. He led the nation with 2.40 points per game, and had 24 points on nine goals and fifteen assists this season while captaining the team to an 8-2 record. His 114 career points are third-most in school history, his 15 power play goals are second in program history, and he is third in career goals and assists.

After graduation, Landrigan started his professional hockey career with the ECHL's Tulsa Oilers. He had three points in ten games with the club. His destination for the upcoming season has not yet been announced.
