BUFFALO, NY- The Utica College women's soccer team was firing on all cylinders as it downed host Buffalo State 5-0 in its season-opener on Saturday. Four different players scored for Utica.

Ro Hernandez (Carmel, NY/Kennedy Catholic) buried a feed from
Sydney Cook (Waterville, NY/Waterville) for her second goal as a Pioneer. The Pioneers doubled their lead in the 39
th minute when junior
Hope Millets (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) tucked a shot inside the left post to carry a two-goal cushion into halftime.

The second half was all Utica as the Pioneers tacked on three more scores to cruise to victory. Hernandez and Cook connected again in the 53
rd minute for Hernandez's second of the day, then just three and a half minutes later, Cook netted one of her own off an assist from
Eliza Ericson (Beacon, NY/Beacon).Â

Jacinta Kaminski (Holland Patent, NY/Holland Patent) capped off the scoring in the 72
nd minute as she rifled a shot from the right edge of the box into the top left corner. Sophomore
Kaela Mochak (Westfield, MA/Westfield) registered an assist on the play.

Karen Troche (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) turned aside one shot to earn the clean sheet in her first collegiate start. Here counterpart, Isabella Vene, made 12 saves in the loss for the Bengals.Â
