Oswego, NY - Coming off of an opening day win, the Utica College men's soccer team fell to Skidmore, 2-0, at Oswego.
The first half was quiet for both sides as UC and Skidmore both failed to find the back of the net. Skidmore outshot UC 7-2 through the first 45 minutes of the match while
Foti Xidias (Carteret, NJ/Carteret) recorded three saves.
The Thoroughbreds broke through six minutes into the second half on a header to take a 1-0 lead. 15 minutes later, Skidmore found the back of the net again to take a convincing 2-0 lead with under 30 minutes remaining. Throughout the remainder of the game UC was only able to attempt two shots, neither of which made it through for a goal as Skidmore claimed the neutral site match, 2-0.
Skidmore outshot the Pioneers 20-6 on the afternoon. Xidias finished with seven saves in goal while
Ramazani Juma (Utica, NY/Proctor) attempted three of Utica's six shots.
UC (1-1) returns to the pitch again tomorrow in Oswego when they battle the Lakers at 2 p.m.
