YOU SHALL NOT PASS: Utica has allowed just five goals in its last six games, including two shutouts… The Pioneers gave up just three shots against Buff State and none in the second half.
SCOUTING MCLA: The Trailblazers, who did not compete during the 2020-21 school year, dropped their first game in nearly two years on Saturday as they fell to Emmanuel College 6-1… Senior Maddie Gibney scored the lone goal for MCLA in the loss… Junior Alyssa Porter is the leading returner after she totaled three goals in 17 games in 2019… Utica defeated MCLA 5-0 in their only previous meeting, Oct. 30, 2019.
SCOUTING OSWEGO: The Lakers are 2-0 on the year after shutout wins over Cazenovia and SUNY Canton last week… Five different players have scored so far this season, led by Elizabeth Myers who has two goals… This will be the first meeting between Utica and Oswego since 2013, when the Lakers came away with a 3-2 win.
SCOUTING FREDONIA: The Blue Devils are 2-0-1 to start the season and they are coming off a pair of 1-0 wins against the College of Wooster and Baldwin Wallace last weekend… Fredonia is led by junior Gabby Alston, who scored both goals over the weekend… Junior Sabrina Suriani has been impressive in goal as she has totaled 22 saves through three games.
LOOKING AHEAD: The Pioneers will host SUNY Potsdam next Tuesday for their home opener… Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
