Przygoda Named All-American Honorable Mention

ATLANTA, GA - Sydney Przygoda (Freehold, NJ/Freehold) of the Utica University women's basketball team was named as a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-American Honorable Mention, as announced by the WBCA on Tuesday night.

The WBCA presents the Player of the Year award annually to the top player in five of the six WBCA membership divisions (NCAA Divisions II, and III, NAIA, two-year college and high school). The Player of the Year and the 10-member Coaches' All-America team in each division are selected by a committee of WBCA member coaches in that division. This season there were 40 honorable mentions named, including Przygoda.

The senior averaged a double-double per game over 20 games this past season and led the Empire 8 with 10.5 rebounds per outing and had the second highest points per game average in the E8 at 15.4. Her 52.2 field goal percentage led the conference and was also the 37th best mark in DIII while her 10.5 boards per game tied her for 47th nationally. Przygoda also found herself within the top-10 in the conference with 2.9 assists per game and 2.3 steals per game while leading the E8 averaging 34.5 minutes played per contest.

In just 71 career games, Przygoda scored 1,140 points, ninth most all-time in program history, grabbed 792 rebounds, sixth all-time in program history, and for her career averaged a double-double per game. She is also a two-time All-Empire 8 selection, nabbing first team honors in 2019-20 and 2021-22.

Przygoda was one of two players from the Empire 8 named as an honorable mention along with Jadyn Abrams of Nazareth College.
