Women's Lax Cruises Past Wells

AURORA, NY- The Utica University women's lacrosse team cruised to its fourth straight win as it downed host Wells College 24-2 in non-conference action Thursday afternoon.  Utica had 11 different goal scorers in the win.
 
Wells scored the first goal of the game just 20 seconds into play, but the Pioneers quickly changed the momentum with a pair of tallies just 24 seconds apart.  Utica shut the Wells attack down, outscoring the host team 16-0 over the final three quarters and finishing with 21 unanswered goals.
 
Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), Samantha DeCondo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), Addison Green (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro), Daniela Muscari (Millbrook, NY/Millbrook), and Abigail Gerling (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) each scored three goals to pace the Pioneers.  Sophomore Alyssa Pisano (Hopewell Junction, NY/Arlington) meanwhile had a career-high four assists to aid in the victory.
 
Morgan Madore (Higganum, CT/Haddam-Killingworth), Carly Fine (Bayside, NY/Bayside), and Alyssa Drell (Mastic, NY/William Floyd) each had two goals to their credit, while Sydney Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), Ashley Guerra (Ionia, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima ), and Grace Stuhlman (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro ) netted one goal apiece.  Senior Emily Rossi (Verona, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) extended her scoring streak to 11 games as she chipped in with two assists in the win.
 
Goalies Claire Frier (Lafayette, NY/Lafayette) and Shaylynn Palmer (Kirkville, NY/East Syracuse Minoa) split time in net, combining for seven saves.  Palmer was credited with her second win of the season.
 
The Pioneers (9-2, 3-1 Empire 8) return to action Saturday as they host Keuka College.  Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
