UTICA, NY - The Utica University men's lacrosse team wraps up its season Saturday as it travels to Empire 8 foe Nazareth College. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.

Last Time Out: The Pioneers had their playoff hopes deflated as they fell to host Hartwick College 18-13 in Empire 8 Conference action on Tuesday. After the first 15 minutes of play the game was tied up 3-3, but the hawks outscored the Pioneers 12-6 in the second and third quarters of the game. The fourth quarter comeback by Utica would not be enough to get back into the contest. The Pioneers were led by
Connor Costanza's (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park ) career-high six goals, while he also added one assist.
John Avery (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford-Mendon) had four goals during the contest for the unit.
Sam Serrano (Stone Ridge, NY/Roundout Valley),
Kevin Parisi (Glenwood, NJ/Vernon Township), and
Gage Fiacco (Massena, NY/Massena) also all netted a goal for Utica.
Costanza's Creations: Connor Costanza (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park ) had a career high six goals against Hartwick to move into the third spot in total points for the Pioneers this season. With 26 points on the year consisting of 20 goals and 6 assists, he is a key part of this Pioneer offense. Not only does he score, the midfielder has 13 ground balls and two caused turnovers on the year.
Along With Avery: John Avery (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford-Mendon) is now leading this Pioneer unit with 38 points on the year. Those points consist of 30 goals and 8 assists. Avery is second in the Empire 8 in individual man-up goals, with 7 of them so far this season. Look for Avery to lead this Pioneer team in their final game of the season against Nazareth.
Scouting Naz: The Golden Flyers are 7-7 so far this year, while being 4-1 in Empire 8 conference play. Naz is coming off of a 28-11 win over Sage last weekend. Naz is led by Brett Randall, who is first in the Empire 8 averaging just over three goals a game.
