UTICA, NY - The Utica University men's wrestling team gears up for the SUNYAC Championships in Rochester, NY hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Last Time Out: The Utica University men's wrestling team wrapped up its afternoon at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH on Saturday afternoon. At 133lbs, Trevor Cortright (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) once again showed out for Utica having a dominant first two bouts before falling in the quarter-finals to Donovan Paes of Ashland University, 8-6 by decision.  To start the day in the round of 32, Cortright defeated NCAA Division II opponent Brock Christain of Gannon University by decision, 8-2. In the third period of the match, Cortright gained three points off a takedown which ultimately guided him to his victory. Following his win over Christian, Cortright defeated Hunter Newell of Mount Union University 3-0 by takedown in the first period in just 1:45. In the consolation round Cortright fell to Quinn Smith of Ithaca College.
 
Cortright Time: At 133lbs, Freshman Trevor Cortright (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) enters Saturday's championships with a 4-2 record. During the Bob Del Rosa Open at Case Western Reserve University, Cortright went 2-2 overall, dominating his first two rounds on the mat. Cortright defeated NCAA Division II opponent Brock Christain of Gannon University by decision, 8-2. In the third period of the match, Cortright gained three points off a takedown which ultimately guided him to his victory.
 
First-Time SUNYAC: This is the first time the SUNYAC will be hosting a conference championship tournament. Eight teams will be competing in the event. SUNY Brockport, Cortland State, Ithaca College, Oneonta State, Oswego State, RIT, St. John Fisher and Utica.
