UTICA, NY - The Utica University water polo team hosted day one of its first home tournament since the 2014 season on Saturday. The team fell to Penn State Behrend 16-4 and lost to Grove City 13-2.

Utica 4, Penn State Behrend 16
The game was very quick paced with plenty of shots for both teams. Penn State Behrend led 11-2 heading into the fourth where the Pioneers netted two more goals to cut the lead. Yet Penn State Behrend held on for a 16-4 victory.

Bailey Simmons (Vernon Center, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) and
Amelia Laible () stayed hot both netting two goals apiece and remain two of the top three scorers for Utica this season.
Paige Levine (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East),
Kelly Waryncia (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), and
Aimee Oswald (Reading, PA/Exeter Township) each recorded one assist in the game. In net,
Kim Serio (Lakeville, NY/Livonia) recorded 12 saves.

Utica 2, Grove City 13
The teams played a tough first quarter with just four goals being scored and plenty of tough defense. Grove City took an 8-1 lead into the half, yet Utica continued to battle scoring one of the three goals in the third quarter. The Pioneers continued to battle yet Grove City hung on for a 13-2 victory.
