Kaci Ryder (Shrewsbury, MA/Shrewsburg (Lady Flames)) and Trevor Cortright (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) have been selected as the Pioneer Athletes of the Week for the week of November 25th.

Ryder came up huge in the Pioneers' 2-1 overtime victory against bitter rival Nazareth, getting important ice time in the extra period and sending home a rebound to send the Pioneers over the Golden Flyers with less than a minute remaining. Ryder also nabbed an assist in the first leg of the two-game series, adding an apple on the Pioneers' only Friday goal. Ryder has four goals and seven assists so far in the season but has had no bigger moment than the overtime game-winner on Saturday, marking the highlight of the season for the team thus far.

Cortright had an outstanding weekend at the NYS Collegiate Championships in Oneonta, winning the 133 LB bracket to place 1st overall in the weight class. Cortright went a perfect 4-0 on the weekend, demolishing the competition en route to an Empire 8 Wrestler of the Week nod. Cortright was ranked 17th nationally for the 133 LB weight class and will look to move up during the next poll cycle on Wednesday.
