Men's Basketball Set for Two Game Week

UTICA, NY - The Utica University men's basketball team is set for two of its last three non-conference games. The team is set to make the short trip to Hamilton, NY to take on the Hamilton College Continentals on Wednesday, December 4 at 7pm. The team then returns home on Saturday, December 7 to take on the SUNY Delhi Broncos. Game time from Miga Court inside the Clark Athletic Center is set for 3pm.

Last Time Out: Leading the way for the Pioneers was Dayion Thompson (Beacon, NY/Kimball Union Academy) who recorded 25 points (8-14 FG, 2-6 3PT, 7-7 FT), swiping six steals, two assists, and two blocks. Hagen Foley (Albany, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) followed up Thompson with 13 points (4-9 FG, 3-7 3PT, 2-4 FT) as well as three assists and two steals. Damien Call (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) led all Pioneer rebounders with 12 total rebounds and added three assists, and Liam Teague (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) notched himself two blocks and a steal on the day. 
 
Shot Takers: Hagen Foley (Albany, NY/Christian Brothers Academy), Damien Call (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy), Dayion Thompson (Beacon, NY/Kimball Union Academy) and Seidina Doukoure (Bronx, NY/The Macduffie School) have been putting together solid outings as shooters for the Pioneers. Foley has been stellar from the floor, going 32-60, averaging 16.8 points per game. Foley's 53.3 field goal percentage is a mark good enough for eighth on the Empire 8 Conference leaderboard. Call currently is second on the team and ninth in the conference from the floor, with 52.9 percent of Call's shots from inside falling. Thompson is currently averaging four made field goals per game, and is averaging 9.5 field goal attempts per game. Thompson is currently averaging 13 points per game on 43 percent shooting from the floor. As a team, the Pioneers are outscoring opponents by over 12 points per game. 
 
Scouting Hamilton: Hamilton College Continentals have a 5-1 record after winning their last four games. Hank Morgan has been the team's leading scorer, netting 109 points and shooting 18.2 percent from the floor. Morgan sits in 3rd overall in the conference for scoring. Teja Singh follows Morgan with 76 points, shooting 12.7 from the floor. As a team, they out-scored their opponents by having 74.3 points per game, totaling 446 points. The Continentals are 7th overall in their conference for offense, averaging 74.3 per game. Morgan is the team's top rebounder, averaging 5.3 rebounds per game, and also leads the team in steals with 12. Last season, the Pioneers fell to the Continentals by a score of 60-53. 
 
Breaking Down the Broncos: The SUNY Delhi Broncos are currently 3-6 on the season so far. As a team, the Broncos are 67.3 points per game. Isiah Barnes is the team's leading scorer totalling 100 points this season. Warren Davis is the team's second leading scorer with 91 total points on over 54 percent shooting from the floor. Jason Tagios is the team's leading threat from outside, shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc. Davis currently holds the team lead in rebounds with 59. Barnes currently holds the team lead in assists, with 57 and steals with 15.
