The Pioneers wrestled Scranton in the first of three matches on the afternoon.
Trevor Cortright (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) at 133lb got Utica off to a hot start as he pinned Matthew DiGennaro in 2:12. Cortright is currently on a 12-match winning streak and has not lost since December 2 at the RIT Invitational. At 149lb,
Eddy Corporan (Poughkeepsie, NY/Roy C Ketcham) won by decision over Kosta Mavrikidis, 5-2.Â

Billy Beseth (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-DeWitt) picked up a big win for Utica, defeating Ayoub Sauzer by decision, 10-4.
Marco Milankovic (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park) (125lb),
James Post (Ilion, NY/Ilion) (133lb), Coporan (157lb) and
Seth Richardson (Fort Plain, NY/Fort Plain) (165lb) won by forfeit.Â

Utica saw wins from Cortright,
Mikael Neris (Medford, NY/Bellport), Beseth, Corporan, Richardson and Krouse. Cortright (133lb) took down Botensky Bauzile by decision, 8-5 followed by Beseth at 149lb defeating Elijah Paraziale, 9-2. Corporan (157lb) recorded a win over Nicholas D'Erasmo, pinning him in 2:54. Richardson (165lb) picked up a win by tech fall over Therrol Lafayette followed by Krouse pinning Hadi Rehman in 1:29.Â

Utica travels to Troy, NY for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Tri-Meet on Saturday, February 17 at noon. West Chester University and RPI will be in attendance.Â
