UTICA, NY - The Utica University gymnastics team wrapped up its inaugural home meet on Saturday, February 3 against Rhode Island College. RIC came in first with a 189.875 and Utica placed second with a 184.725.

Alexis Castellaneta (Watkins Glen, NY/Watkins Glen) was marvelous in the floor exercise with an incredible score of 9.80 to take home second place in the event.
Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) also shined with a 9.75 which was a part of a three-way tie for third place.

Castellaneta and Marra shined in the vault with each scoring a strong 9.50 to place third in the event.
Haley Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) also did well, placing seventh with a score of 9.375.

Christina Troche (Manalapan, NJ/Saint John Vianney) and Marra performed well in the uneven bars, each scoring a 9.25 to tie for fourth place.Â

Marra continued to excel in the beam with a fantastic score of 9.65 which was fourth best in the event. Castellaneta (9.45) and
Madison Reed (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) (9.40) also did well, placing sixth and seventh.

Marra and Castellaneta finished three-four in the all-around with scores of 38.15 and 37.65 and marks the second consecutive meet where both have finished top-five.
Utica (0-1) will head to the Empire State Collegiate Championship on Sunday, February 11 at 1 p.m. Cornell University will host the event that can be watched via
ESPN+.
