After achieving a pair of All-American honors at this past weekend's NCGA Nationals, the duo of
Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) and
Alyssa Langston (Pearland, TX/Pearland) have been named the Pioneer Athletes of the Week for the week of March 23rd.
Langston made her first career nationals appearance this past weekend at Cortland, where she set a new school record, season, and career high in the uneven bars, posting a stellar 9.850 to finish in second place against the best competition in the NCGA. Â With the second-place finish, the highest finish in an event at nationals in program history, she collected her first career and the program's fifth overall All-American accolade.Â
Marra collected her fourth consecutive All-American nod this past weekend after bringing down the house with a 9.825 in the floor exercise at the NCGA Nationals hosted by SUNY Cortland. Marra, the program's first All-American, now has two nods in the all-around, and two in the floor exercise, collecting the program's sixth overall All-American finish.Â
