Championship Caliber: In the program's three seasons, the Pioneers have sent at least two gymnasts to the national championships, and have had at least one gymnast earn the title of All-American in each appearance.
Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) has enjoyed massive successes for the program, capturing three All-American titles, with a pair in the all-around, and another in the floor exercise.
Emmy Graff (Boulder, CO/Connections) also has garnered All-America status in the all-around, capturing the title in her freshman campaign last season.
Floor Firepower: Three-time All-American
Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) looks for her third consecutive and fourth overall All-American nod heading into this weekend's championship. Marra has qualified for this season's edition of the championship after securing an at-large selection based off of her season average score in the floor exercise. Floor has been Marra's strength this season, posting a program second best, and career high 9.875 at the beginning of the season. Since then, Marra has been incredibly consistent in her scoring in the event, posting scores between 9.875 and 9.700, averaging a 9.769 on the season. At last season's nationals, Marra earned the title of All-American in the event, with a 9.825 in the event to fall in a tie for sixth place.
Bars Brilliance: Sophomore
Alyssa Langston (Pearland, TX/Pearland) is set to make her first career nationals appearance after qualifying with an at-large selection based on her season average score in the uneven bars. Langston has been a statement piece in the Pioneer bars lineup this season, consistently posting scores between 9.450 and 9.750, averaging a 9.278 in the event on the season. Langston has also not scored lower than a 9.600 in half of the Pioneers' meets this season, and has posted a score higher than 9.300 in six out of eight meets.
Balancing Act: Freshman
Alisya Dorman (Killingworth, CT/Haddam Killingworth) has enjoyed much success during her freshman campaign, culminating in an at-large selection in the balance beam to compete in nationals. In her first season of collegiate competition, Dorman has made her presence known for the Pioneers, posting some of the highest scores since the program's inception on the beam. Averaging a team high 9.506 in the event, Dorman has consistently registered scores over 9.450 in five out of the team's eight meets.
A Look at the Field & Schedule: Six teams have captured slots in the championship field, including the host Cortland, Brockport, UW Eau Claire, UW La Crosse, UW Oshkosh, and UW Whitewater. Alongside the three Pioneers competing, gymnasts from Ithaca, Rhode Island, and Ursinus will represent the NCGA East contingent, while gymnasts from Greenville, Gustavus Adolphus, Simpson, UW Stout, and Winona State will be competing from the West region. Marra is set to compete in the floor exercise alongside UW Eau Claire in the first rotation, Dorman will compete on the beam in the second rotation alongside UW La Crosse, and Langston will round out the Pioneers' day in the fourth rotation on bars alongside UW Eau Claire.
