BROCKPORT, NY - The Utica University gymnastics team fell to SUNY Brockport 194.325 to 185.4 on Friday night. It was a fantastic night for the Pioneers with a plethora of personal bests set. The team was also wonderful on the balance beam with four members earning higher than a 9.500 which was the most in a single event in program history for Utica.

Alexis Castellaneta (Watkins Glen, NY/Watkins Glen) was marvelous, setting a new program record on the vault with an incredible 9.850 to finish first in the event.
Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) also did well finishing with a 9.575 with
Ryli McGorry (Orefield, PA/Parkland) (9.475) and
Haley Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) (9.375) not far behind.

Castellaneta also shined on the balance beam, turning in another fantastic mark of 9.825 which was another program record and third overall.
Madison Reed (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) set a personal best with a remarkable 9.750 to finish tied for sixth. Marra (9.625) and
Olivia Fragala (Cave Creek, AZ/ASU Digital Prep) (9.500) also turned in great performances and wrapped up a wonderful event for Utica.

Castellaneta and Marra both shined again in the floor exercise with the former earning a 9.775 and the latter a 9.750 to both finish top six in the event.
Olivia Rosen (Massapequa, NY/Plainedge) had another successful event earning a 9.300.

Marra led Utica with a 9.100 on the uneven bars with
Olivia Rosen (Massapequa, NY/Plainedge) (8.800) and McGorry (8.575) finishing right behind her.

Utica (0-3) will head to face SUNY Cortland on Sunday, March 3 at 1 p.m.
