AUBURNDALE, FL - The Utica University baseball team fell twice to Dickinson College on day two at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational on Sunday afternoon. Dickinson took game one 12-3 (7 Inn.) and game two 10-1 (7 Inn.).

Dickinson 12, Utica 3 (7 Inn.)

Joe Crossley (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) led the way offensively for the Pioneers going 2-for-3 with two home runs, two RBIs, two runs scored, and one walk.
Jason Story (Hilton, NY/Hilton) went 1-for-3 and had one RBI during the contest.
Dom Fasolo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) went 1-for-2 with
Jack Scanlon (Rochester, NY/Aquinas Institute) and
Josh Duval (Utica, NY/Proctor) each tallying one hit.

Austin Rhodes (Wappingers Falls, NY/Kennedy Catholic) got the start on the bump going five strong innings allowing three runs, none earned, on four hits, five walks, with two strikeouts.
Christian Cicchetti (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) relieved him and went a third of an inning allowing three earned runs on one hit with two walks issued and was credited with the loss.
Tyler Catalfamo (Albany, NY/Colonie) closed out the game on the mound for Utica pitching two thirds of an inning allowing six runs, four earned, on three hits with one walk issued.

It was quite the pitcher's duel to begin the game with no runs scored for either team through the first three innings. Utica's offense came alive in the 4th with Crossley homering to put the Pioneers up 1-0 with Story singling to center field to bring home Scanlon to make it a 2-0 lead.

Yet Dickinson responded in the bottom of the 5th inning capitalizing on a pair of hits and errors to take a 3-2 advantage after five innings of play.

The Pioneers tied the game in the top of the 6th as Crossley homered for the second time to knot the score at 3-3. Fasolo singled in the inning yet was stranded to keep the score at 3-3.

The Red Devils offense erupted in the bottom of the 6th plating nine runs on four timely hits to take a commanding 12-3 edge which would stand as the final score.

Dickson 10, Utica 1 (7 Inn.)

Andrew Salbinski (Essex, CT/Valley Regional) and
Lance Berger (Lindenhurst, NY/Saint Anthony's) each went 1-for-3 and accounted for the two Utica hits in game two. Salbinski scored the lone Pioneers run on a throwing error by the Dickinson catcher.

Aidan McCue (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) got the start for Utica pitching five innings on six earned runs, on seven hits, with four walks issued, two hit batters, while punching out two while being credited with the loss.
Justin Notargiacomo (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) pitched the final two innings of the game allowing four runs, one earned, on two hits, one hit batter, and two walks while striking out one.

The Red Devils scratched across one run in the top of the 1st on a ground out to second base to take the early 1-0 lead. Yet, Utica got a rally started in the bottom of the 2nd with Salbinski singling to right field and swiping second to get into scoring position. Matthew Kanyuk (Mellville, NY/Hills East) swiping second. The score remained 1-1 after two innings of play.

From there it would be all Red Devils with the team plating nine runs over the next five innings to secure a 10-1 victory.
