WOOSTER, MA - The Utica University men's wrestling team wrapped up day one of the NCGA Northeast Regional Qualifiers on Saturday afternoon. The team finished the day in 17th place with 17.5 points.

At 133lb,
Trevor Cortright (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) received a first round bye and then topped Wesleyan's Max Martinez via major decision. He then fell in the quarterfinals to Springfield's Gianni Manginelli via decision in an extremely tight contest. Cortright then won his consolation match over WPI's Charlie Pavis via fall over. Cortright will compete tomorrow in day two of the NCGA Northeast Regional Qualifiers and looks to win the consolation bracket after being named all-region.

Mikael Neris (Medford, NY/Bellport) fell to Southern Maine's Jake Craig by tech fall in the first round.

Billy Beseth (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-DeWitt) fell by fall over in round one to Western New England's Austin Monteiro.

Eddy Corporan (Poughkeepsie, NY/Roy C Ketcham) fell to Colby Frost of Southern Maine via forfeit.

Seth Richardson (Fort Plain, NY/Fort Plain) fell to NYU's Cooper Pontelandolfo by tech fall in his second round matchup.

Logan Krouse (Duanesburg, NY/Duanesburg) won by fall over Hunter's Therrol Lafayette in round one yet then fell to Western New England's Sean Monteiro via fall over.Â
