Williamstown,MA - The Utica University women's track and field team completed day two of the Farley Inter Regional Meet hosted by Williams College on Saturday, May 11.
Hannah Allison (Herkimer, NY/Herkimer) stole the show in the high jump while tying the school record. Allison's high jump of 1.60m is now a new personal best, and would sit in a tie for 12th among AARTFC competitors based on performance lists from the start of Saturday's competition. She was fourth against a challenging field while tying the second highest mark before tiebreakers were enacted to determine a finish order.Â
In the shot put, Jane Fahy (Oriskany, NY/MVCC/Oriskany) threw 13.91m to place second. Allie Cary (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) threw a mark of 11.68 meters to place seventh.
Also in the throws, Allie Cary (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) was fifth in discus (41.80m), and Hailey Hrouda (Wappingers Falls, NY/Royce Ketcham) was ninth (36.88m) in the same event. Hrouda also shined in the Hammer Throw. Her toss of 41.18 meters ranks twelfth on the program's all-time list, and alongside it came a sixteenth place finish. Teammate Riley King (Oswego, NY/Oswego) was thirteenth at 42.22 meters.Â
In the 100m hurdles, the Pioneers secured a pair of top ten finishes. Stefania Grimaldi (Poland, NY/Poland Central) was ninth (16.22), and Alyssa Youngs (Constableville/West Canada Valley) was tenth (16.39).
At 1,500 meters, Jade Dening (Remsen, NY/Remsen) improved her standing on the program's all-time list with a 4:56.64 to place 19th and land fourth on the program's all-time list with her personal best.Â
The team will now turn their focus to the AARTFC Championships at SUNY Cortland, which begin on Wednesday, May 15th.
