ROCHESTER, NY - Allie Cary (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) of the Utica University women's outdoor track and field team has been named this week's Empire 8 Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday. 

Allie Cary (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) continued her dominant spring campaign with another multi-event victory performance for Utica, securing first place in both the shot put (13.91m) and discus (46.59m). The sophomore standout reset her own program record in the discus, while her shot put mark ranks second all-time in school history. Cary's discus throw also placed her among the nation's elite, ranking sixth in NCAA Division III at the time, further solidifying her status as one of the top field athletes in the region.

Cary and the Pioneers are back in action this week as the team travels to take on the Capital District Classic, hosted by RPI on Friday, April 24. Start time is set for 2pm from Troy, NY.
