UTICA, NY - After another week of stellar performances with four first-place finishes and four program records at the RPI Capital District Classic, the Pioneers will be taking on the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships this Friday and Saturday. This Friday, the team will be heading to St John Fisher in Pittsford, NY, to compete in the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships at Polisseni Track & Field Complex.
PITTSFORD, NY - On Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd, the Utica University men's and women's Track and Field team will travel to St John Fisher to compete in the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships at Polisseni Track & Field Complex. The events will start at 2:00 PM on Friday and 10:30 AM on Saturday.

Last Time Out - the Pioneers would compete on Friday at the RPI Capital District Classic. The weekend would result in four first-place finishes and four program records for the Pioneers.
Allie Cary (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) (2x),
Genna McCallum (Mora, MN/Indian River), and
Spencer Borghardt (Smithtown, NY/St.Anthony's) were the first-place finishers, while
Arianna McClendon (Rome, NY/New York Mills),
Bennett Melita (Johnstown, NY/Fonda-Fultonville),
Eddy Corporan (Poughkeepsie, NY/Roy C Ketcham), and
Genna McCallum (Mora, MN/Indian River) were the program record setters for their respective events.
Last Friday at RPI
McClendon competed in the Women's 800m. She would finish with a time of 2:19.29. This would give her a second-place finish and would break the program record for the event.
Melita would compete in the 1500m. He finished with a time of 3:54.76. This time would give him an eighth-place finish, the program record, and give him the #7 rank in the Niagara region.
Eddy Corporan (Poughkeepsie, NY/Roy C Ketcham) would compete in the Men's 800m. He would finish in 1:54.20, earning fourth place and the program record. With that time, he is also ranked #11 in the Niagara region.
McCallum competed in the Pole Vault. She would finish with a mark of 3.35m. This would give her a first-place finish and the program record.

Following the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships: The Pioneers are heading to Williams College next weekend for the FIRE Meet before gearing up for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Outdoor Championships, which will take place on May 13th and 14th out at Ursinus College.
