UTICA, NY The Utica University women's wrestling team hosts their first ever home meet on Sunday, January 12 at 11 a.m. in Utica, NY. The event will take place in the Clark Athletic Center on Miga Court.

Last Time Out: The Pioneers competed at the Hiram College Round Robin in Hiram, OH, on December 15. Rebekah May (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) at 131lb defeated Anna Sheehan of Alfred State by fall in 1:05. Braylin Jones (Payson, UT/Salem Hills) wrestled at 138lb and won three consecutive matches by fall. Her first pin came against Akira Jones of Indiana Tech (Fall 2:44), her second bout was against Annalis Ortez of University Rio Grade. Her final pin came against Brooke Walsh of Alfred State by fall in 5:06. Gillian Mills (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) wrestled at 138lb and picked up two wins over Sian Rogers (Manchester, Fall 1:11) and Emily Brown (Alfred State, TF 10-0). Olivia LaPoint (Lake George, NY/Lake George) secured a victory in the 145lb weight class against Rilee Swaim of Manchester (Dec 10-6).
 
Money Molina: Jazmene Molina (La Mirada, CA/Valencia) earned herself the No. 8 ranking in OpenMat as she sports a 22-2 record. She last competed in the York Invitational, placing first in the 124lb weight class. In her final match, she defeated No. 15 ranked Kalli Roskos of Ursinus College by decision, 7-2.https://news.theopenmat.com/rankings/ncaaw/124
 
What To Know: The tournament will be a round-robin meet, with each team facing off against the others in a series of dual meets. At the end of the dual meet matchups, teams will participate in a series of exhibition scrambles.
 
Teams Attending: Five teams, including Utica, will compete in the Utica Duals: Western New England, Alfred State, Maine Maritime Academy and Buffalo State.
