UTICA, NY - The Utica University women's indoor track & field team wrapped up competition at the Utica Winter Opener on Friday evening.
 
Cassondra Wood (Canasota, NY/Canasota) started the meet with a first-place finish in pole vault with her 2.85m jump. Nora Devitt (Beverly, MA/Beverly) took second overall in the triple jump with a 10.68m leap and Sophia Bruce (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) placed fourth with a 10.28m jump.
 
Nyasia Marsh's (Westmoreland, NY/Westmoreland) 5.33m long jump earned her first place and sixth all-time in program history. Along with being placed sixth all-time, Marsh's score is her best long jump in her career. Nora Devitt (Beverly, MA/Beverly) placed third and jumped 5.16m.
 
Catherine Manna (Whitesboro, NY/whitesboro) and Marlo Townsend (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) went 8-9 in the mile, both placing on the all-time list. Manna scored a 5:35.43 followed by Towsend's 5:35.55. Manna's 3:19.94 in the 1000m is good for 10th all-time in program history. Jade Dening (Remsen, NY/Remsen) placed fourth in the 1000m, running a 3:16.56.
 
Hannah Allison (Herkimer, NY/Herkimer) tied her personal record and took first place in the high jump with a 1.58m jump and Jada Anthony (West Nyack, NY/Clarkstown South) took fifth place with a 1.45m leap.
 
Arianna McClendon (/New York Mills) placed second overall in the 400m, scoring a 1:01.28 and Lilly Messler (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) placed 10th with a 1:07.73.
 
Isabella Frick (Longmeadow, MA/Longmeadow) placed ninth all-time with her 9.96 in the 60m hurdles and her best finish this season.
 
The 4x200 relay of McClendon, Shiann Williams (Bronx, NY/Hydel), Frick and Marsh stamped a 1:54.49 and took third overall.
 
Ranasia Bailey (Parish, NY/Altmar-Parish-Williamstown) placed fourth in shot put with a 9.72m throw. Amanda Hausle (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West) was Utica's next finisher with a big 8.88m weight throw.
 
Utica travels to St. Lawrence University on Saturday, January 25, for an 11 a.m. start time.
