UTICA, NY - The Utica University gymnastics team is set to host its second home meet in program history on Sunday, January 26 inside the Clark Athletic Center with a start time set for 1pm. Utica will square off against the Cortland Red Dragons and the Ursinus College Bears for the second time this season, and the team will welcome the Ithaca College Bombers.
Admission Information: Tickets will be available for free to Utica students with a valid Utica ID and $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets will only be available at the door and will be cash only.

Last Time Out: The team finished in second place at the Rhode Island College Tri Meet, hosted by Rhode Island College on Saturday evening. The team combined for a total of 185.325 points. Rhode Island College won the meet with a score of 190.100 and Gustavus Adolphus College took third with a score of 184.100. In the all-around,
Emmy Graff (Boulder, CO/Connections) (Boulder, CO/Connections) took second place with a score of 37.550.
Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) placed fourth in the all-around with a score of 36.925. In the floor exercise, Marra posted an impressive 9.800 to take the top spot in the event.
Vaulting into Meet Week: In the vault, Marra topped her score from the last time out with a score of 9.525. Graff also topped her score in the event with a 9.475.
Jenna DiPalo (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) scored a 9.400, while
Madison Villani (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) took home a 9.450 which topped her score from last week.
Aubrey Hughes (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) took home a 9.225 and
Ainsley Pinckard (Pflugerville, TX/St. Dominic Savio Catholic) scored a 9.200. Rounding out the Pioneers on vault was
Joscelyn Wabick (Buffalo, NY/Orchard Park) who notched an 8.800.
Came Out Swinging: The duo of Graff and
Alyssa Langston (Pearland, TX/Pearland) have been phenomenal on the uneven bars for the Pioneers, with the duo taking home two of the top three spots in the event in the first two meets. Both Graff and Langston have each topped their previous scores in the last meet and look to build upon their successes moving forward.
Balancing it All: The trio of
Abigail Walters (Lake Grove, NY/The Stony Brook School),
Ainsley Pinckard (Pflugerville, TX/St. Dominic Savio Catholic), and
Haley Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) have put together fantastic outings on beam for Utica. Each have competed in the event at both meets so far this season, and have all placed within the top 20 in the event at either meet. Pinckard tied for fourth place last time out while Miller tied for seventh and Walters took 11th. At the Cortland Quad, Walters tied for seventh, while Miller took 14th and Pinkcard tied for 19th. Addison Ferri and DiPalo have also both put together strong showings on the beam, each scoring more than an 8.400 in both meets.
Take the Floor: Grace Marra (St. James, NY/Smithtown East) has absolutely dominated on the floor so far this season, with both of her routines scoring 9.800. Last time out for Utica, each entry into the event placed within the top 25 with an average score of 9.130.
Scouting Cortland: The Cortland Red Dragons placed third at the Cortland Quad and lost its last dual meet to Brockport, 189.900-187.925. Samantha Meadows won the beam with a score of 9.725. Autumn Adkins placed second on uneven bars with a 9.625 and tied for fifth on floor exercise with a 9.575. Anna Lee Dobson finished second on balance beam with a 9.65, jumping more than half a point from her collegiate debut last weekend.
Breaking Down the Bombers: The Ithaca College Bombers have not competed since January 12, when the team squared off against Brockport for a dual meet, falling by a score of 187.625-186.550. The Bombers started the competition on vault and scored 46.475. Ithaca moved over to bars and put together a solid showing with 46.750 before combining for a score of 46.750 on beam. On floor, the Bombers notched a score of 46.575.
A Look At Ursinus: The Ursinus College Bears have placed first at the Cortland Quad, and scored 188.425 points against three Division I opponents. The Bears finished fourth by recording a team score of 188.425 behind totals of: 47.375 on the vault, 46.700 on the bars, 46.825 on the beam, and 47.525 on the floor. Towson won the meet with a team score of 195.600 and was followed by Penn in second at 193.250 and Yale in third at 191.500.
Up Next: The team travels to Piscataway, NJ to take on the Rutgers February Quad, hosted by NCAA Division I Rutgers University. Other teams in attendance will include NCAA Division I University of Maryland and NAIA Fisk University. Start time in the Jersey Mike's Arena is set for 1pm.
