SYRACUSE, NY – Utica freshman Claire Draper (Watertown, NY/Watertown) has been selected the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Rookie of the Week.

It marks her second straight selection for the honor.

The NWGC announced the honor from its office in Syracuse, N.Y., on Tuesday, Sept. 30, for events held Sept. 22-28.

Draper continued her incredible start to her young career by tying for second overall at the Keuka College Fall Invitational.

On the Par 72, 5687-yard Lakeside Country Club course, she shot +13 - good for second-best in the event and helping lead her team to a second-place finish. The 18-hole event was held in Penn Yan, N.Y.

Draper's finished five strokes behind Bethany Wineburg of Nazareth who won the event.

Utica women's golf is set to rest this week, with their next scheduled event on October 12th and 13th, when they compete in the Empire 8 Fall Invitational. The event will be hosted at Teugega Country Club in Rome, NY.
