UTICA, NY - Junior duo
Megan Wright (Clay Center, KS/Clay Center Community) and
Trinity Bailey (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham) have been honored as members of this year's Division III Women's Volleyball CSC Academic All-District Team, an accolade that combines athletic and academic prowess into one single honor.
The Pioneer pair powered the squad on both sides, with Bailey being a main focal point on offense and Wright shoring up the defense as the team's main libero. The two juniors helped the Pioneers return to postseason play, notching a seventh-place finish in the conference and generating lots of hype for their senior season. Both players maintained a cumulative GPA above 3.50 through the fall 2025 semester, making them eligible for the honor.
Wright shifted her focus more to defense this past season, becoming the team's main libero as her defensive powers were put on full display. She passed the 1,000 career digs mark early on in the season, but rode that success to an impressive campaign that was capped off with an All-ECAC Second Team nod, and a selection to the All-Empire 8 Third Team. The Kansas native tallied 585 digs, good for a rate of 5.68 digs per set. Wright also helped put up points from the service zone, landing 33 service aces at a rate of over one per match.Â
Bailey, on the other hand, was an overwhelming force on offense, leading the team with 320 kills at a rate of 3.48 per set. She ranked sixth in the Empire 8 for total kills, racking up points from the left side of the net as she used a blend of superior vision and power to pick out the correct attacks. Bailey landed 38 service aces throughout the season, and capped off her junior season with a selection to the All-Empire 8 Third Team.Â
These two standouts will look to do it all again next season, hoping for a storied season in their senior years.Â
