ALLENTOWN, PA - Utica University's women's wrestling team wrapped up its weekend at the Muhlenberg College Novice Tournament on Sunday, earning several individual victories across six weight classes. The Pioneers will now look ahead to their event next weekend, which will conclude their fall semester schedule.
At 138 pounds,
Jackie Mace (Montour Falls, NY/Odessa-Montour) turned in one of Utica's strongest performances of the day, earning three wins, all by fall, including victories over Coast Guard and Rider competitors.
Hannah Kusmierczak (Rome, NY/Holland Patent) added two wins at 145, highlighted by a 23-second pin against West Chester. The Pioneers also saw productive outings from their 124-pound entries, as
Dakoda House (Oneonta, NY/Cherry Valley Springfield) collected two falls, including one over a fellow Utica wrestler, while
Octavia Dragotta (Utica, NY/Thomas R. Proctor) competed through her full slate of bouts.
In the upper weights,
Paityn Billard (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) earned a fall against Rutgers at 180, and
Evelyn Enriquez (Mastic Beach, NY/Miller Place) opened her tournament with a 16-second pin in her first match. At 207 pounds,
Natalie Enriquez (Mastic Beach, NY/William Floyd) added a fall of her own with a win over Rutgers before advancing deeper into the bracket.
Utica will wrap up its fall semester schedule next Sunday, December 14th. The squad will travel to Hiram, Ohio to compete in the Hiram College Terrier Round Robin. Action is set to begin at noon in Hiram's Price Gymnasium.
