ROCHESTER, NY - Natalie Cornell (Greenwood, NY/Jasper-Troupsburg) has been named Empire 8 Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday. 

Cornell put together a pair of solid outings for the Pioneers last week. Cornell was good for 27 points on 92 percent shooting from the floor, with 11 total rebounds and four assists. Against Hartwick, Cornell shined with 19 points, going 9-9 in her attempts from the floor, with eight rebounds, seven being offensive, and three assists. Against Saig, Cornell was good for 67 percent of her attempts from the floor, as well as going a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. Cornell was able to haul in three offensive rebounds in the contest, and dished out an assist as well.

Cornell and the Pioneers will be back in action this Friday, February 14 as the team travels to Elmira, NY to take on the Elmira College Soaring Eagles. Tip off is set for 5:30pm.
